Home Care South is a dynamic and client-focused team within the Department of Health (Tasmania), dedicated to delivering high-quality in-home support services across Southern Tasmania. The Role:

As the Administrative Assistant – Home Maintenance, you will play a key role in supporting the coordination and delivery of essential services. Working closely with the Service Support Officer, you will:

  • Assist in managing referrals and bookings for basic home maintenance and minor modifications.

  • Maintain accurate client records and prepare reports, correspondence, and meeting documentation.

  • Coordinate staff rosters to ensure continuity of service delivery.

  • Monitor equipment, report defects, and schedule repairs.

  • Support data entry and administrative processes for the Home Maintenance program.

  • Contribute to safety and quality initiatives, including child safeguarding practices and WHS compliance.


You will need:

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • Strong organisational, written, and verbal communication skills.

  • Proven experience in providing administrative support within a service delivery environment.

  • Proficiency in office systems, including Microsoft Office Suite, iPM, and Finance 1.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with staff and clients.

  • The ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic and changing environment.

  • Sound judgment, initiative, and discretion in a team setting.


You’ll also be expected to uphold the Department of Health’s values and contribute to a safe, inclusive, and respectful workplace that supports vulnerable people and promotes child safety.


Details of appointment:

Permanent full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Salary: $66,049 to $70,993 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
