

The Glenorchy Tip Shop is a Tasmanian-owned business focused on delivering real environmental, economic and social impact. We give materials a second life - salvaging from landfill, reselling reusable goods, and supporting the circular economy.
About the role
This is hands-on work in a unique environment. No two days are the same.
You’ll be involved in:
Salvaging reusable materials from landfill
Accepting and sorting donations from the public
Preparing, pricing and displaying stock
Providing customer service on-site
Supporting safe and efficient operations
Shifts & availability
Casual and part-time opportunities
Weekday shifts: 8:45am – 4:45pm
Weekend shifts: 9:45am – 4:30pm
Must be available for weekends and short-notice cover (leave/sick relief)
What we’re looking for
Essential:
Manual driver’s licence (full or clean provisional)
Physically fit (comfortable lifting 15–20kg and working on a tip face)
White Card + understanding of safe work practices
Reliable with a strong work ethic
Able to follow direction and procedures
Genuine interest in reuse and sustainability
Desirable:
Customer service experience
Retail or display skills
Knowledge of second-hand goods/materials
Experience in reuse, recycling, or similar environments
