The Glenorchy Tip Shop is a Tasmanian-owned business focused on delivering real environmental, economic and social impact. We give materials a second life - salvaging from landfill, reselling reusable goods, and supporting the circular economy.

About the role

This is hands-on work in a unique environment. No two days are the same.

You’ll be involved in:

• Salvaging reusable materials from landfill

• Accepting and sorting donations from the public

• Preparing, pricing and displaying stock

• Providing customer service on-site

• Supporting safe and efficient operations

Shifts & availability

• Casual and part-time opportunities

• Weekday shifts: 8:45am – 4:45pm

• Weekend shifts: 9:45am – 4:30pm

• Must be available for weekends and short-notice cover (leave/sick relief)

What we’re looking for

Essential:

• Manual driver’s licence (full or clean provisional)

• Physically fit (comfortable lifting 15–20kg and working on a tip face)

• White Card + understanding of safe work practices

• Reliable with a strong work ethic

• Able to follow direction and procedures

• Genuine interest in reuse and sustainability

Desirable:

• Customer service experience

• Retail or display skills

• Knowledge of second-hand goods/materials

• Experience in reuse, recycling, or similar environments
