Qualified Mechanic – MJ Mechanical

MJ Mechanical in South Hobart are looking for an experienced Qualified Mechanic to join the team.

If you’re an experienced mechanic who takes pride in quality workmanship, enjoys solving problems and knows your way around a wide range of vehicles, we’d like to hear from you.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who can confidently diagnose and repair vehicles, work independently when required, and provide friendly and professional service to customers.

About the role

You will be responsible for a broad range of servicing, diagnostics and mechanical repairs, including:

• Diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical faults using modern diagnostic and scan equipment

• Servicing and repairing brakes, steering, suspension, engines, cooling, fuel and ignition systems

• Carrying out major repairs, including clutch and gearbox work

• Maintaining accurate service records and communicating repair requirements and recommendations to customers

• Assisting and guiding apprentices or junior mechanics when required

• Ensuring all work is completed safely and to a high standard

About you

We’re looking for someone who has:

• Minimum 2 years' experience as an automotive mechanic, including experience with major repairs

• Strong diagnostic, problem-solving and mechanical skills

• The ability to work independently and as part of a team

• A reliable, hardworking attitude and commitment to quality workmanship

• Good communication and customer service skills

• A valid driver's licence
