Free Resume & Interview Support
Supported by Workskills Tasmania and Career Development Association of Australia

Get practical, one-on-one guidance on your resume and interview approach at the Hobart & Southern Tasmania Employment & Careers Expo, with free support delivered by Workskills Tasmania in partnership with the Career Development Association of Australia.

This service is open to everyone attending the Expo. You do not need to be a current Workskills participant to utilise this service.

From 10:30am to 2:30pm, experienced career practitioners will be available to review your resume, provide practical feedback, and help you strengthen how you present yourself to employers. Whether you are preparing for a specific role or simply want to ensure your resume reflects you well, support will be available.

To make the most of the service, please bring your resume in Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx), saved on your email or a USB drive. Unfortunately, resumes in hard copy or PDF format cannot be edited on the day.

Interview technique guidance will also be available between 10:30am and 2:30pm. This includes practical advice on how to approach different interview formats, communicate your experience clearly, and present yourself with confidence when speaking with employers.

Live Q&A Panels - Hear Directly from Employers and Industry

Step into the conversation and hear directly from employers, training providers, and industry representatives through a series of live Q&A panel sessions running across the day, hosted by Melissa Warn from Asuria Training

Open to all attendees, these sessions offer a chance to learn how different industries work, what employers value, and how people successfully enter and progress within their field. You will also have the opportunity to ask questions and gain insights that can help shape your next steps.

Held at scheduled times throughout the Expo, the panels create space to pause, listen, and learn in a focused setting, with Mel guiding discussion and audience questions across each session. The full panel schedule can be found below, including session topics and times.

Sensory Hour - A Calmer Expo Experience

A dedicated Sensory Hour will take place from 3:00pm to 4:00pm, offering a calmer and more accessible way to experience the Expo.

This session supports people who prefer a quieter environment, including those who may find busy, high-energy spaces overwhelming, or who simply benefit from a slower pace.

During this hour, noise levels, crowd movement, and announcements will be reduced. You will still be able to meet employers, training providers, and support services, but in a setting designed to feel more comfortable and manageable.
